§1 - C.18A:18A-49.3 P.L. 2003, CHAPTER 313, approved January 20, 2004Senate, No. 2567 1 AN ACT concerning school photographers and supplementing chapter2 18A of Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes. 3 4 BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly of the State5 of New Jersey:6 7 1. A board of education may enter into a contract with a 8 photographer for the taking of pupil yearbook pictures. The hiring of 9 a photographer shall not prohibit a pupil from engaging a 10 photographer of the pupil's choice nor prevent a picture taken by that 11 photographer from appearing in the yearbook if the picture meets the 12 specifications of the yearbook staff. 13 14 2. This act shall take effect immediately. 15 16 17 STATEMENT 18 19 This bill provides that a board of education may enter into a 20 contract with a photographer for the taking of pupil yearbook pictures. 21 The hiring of a photographer would not prohibit a pupil from engaging 22 a photographer of the pupil's choice nor prevent a picture taken by 23 that photographer from appearing in the yearbook if the picture meets 24 the specifications of the yearbook staff. 25 26 27 28 29 Provides that school board may contract with photographer for 30 yearbook and may not prohibit use of pictures made by other 31 photographers.
